Mark Alexakos, MD, MPP
Chief Behavior Health Officer
Dr. Alexakos studied at the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine and Harris School of Public Policy where he developed an early interest in how public policy, research, and health care delivery impact health and access to health care for vulnerable populations. He continued his training at trained at the Harvard Longwood residency program for adult psychiatry and the Massachusetts General and McLean Hospital for child and adolescent psychiatry. As a practicing psychiatrist and Chief Behavioral Health Officer at Lynn Community Health Center, he brings his experience integrating behavioral health initiatives into the community. Before working at LCHC, Dr. Alexakos spent seven years developing the Children’s Wellness Initiative: an intensive school based mental health service model that combined health promotion and prevention with quick access to behavioral health treatment in five Boston public schools.
