Elise Henricks, MD
CMO, Upham's Corner Health Center
Dr. Henricks, Medical Director at Upham's Corner Health Center (UCHC), has been employed at UCHC since 1998, following her graduation from a community health center-based residency program in Family Medicine at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center.
As a family physician, she has spent her entire medical career working in community medicine with diverse populations, including trips to Mexico and Guatemala. Fluent in Spanish and medical Cape Verdean Creole, Dr. Henricks has been committed to providing quality care for vulnerable populations for over 20 years, with a special focus on urban areas.
Her roles at UCHC have included Associate Medical Director for Women’s Health and subsequently Medical Director since 2013. In addition, she has served as a preceptor for medical students and was awarded the Reach Out and Read Medical Champion of the Year in 2013 for her efforts on behalf of pediatric literacy. She served on the Jericho Road Roxbury steering committee, supporting nonprofits in the Dorchester and Roxbury neighborhoods. Dr. Henricks is a graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Dr. Henricks lives with her family in Dorchester, further strengthening her understanding of the complexities of the community she serves.
